A local firm, born from a solid solid solid solid collaboration
The largest bailiff's office in Gatineau
Since 2019
An indispensable partner in your judicial process
The bailiff is the only one among all the professionals involved in the justice system who works in the field: they are the intermediary between the courts and the citizen. They travel to residences, workplaces, business premises and any other location to locate sought-after assets and/or individuals. They must be observant, persuasive, a skilled negotiator, an investigator and even a mediator.
They are the only one who can serve your documents by drawing up an authentic sworn affidavit of service, and the only one who can act to ensure your judgment is enforced.
Founded in 2019 by René Bergeron and Julie Renaud, former colleagues at Trudel Favreau, huissiers de justice, Bergeron Renaud quickly became a reference for bailiff services in Gatineau and throughout the Outaouais region, building on the experience and reputation that firm had established over the years.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have questions about our bailiff services? Here are the answers to the most common inquiries to help you better understand our interventions, our turnaround times and the regions we serve.
How much do bailiff services cost?
The fee schedule for bailiffs is set by the Government of Québec based on the acts performed and the kilometres travelled.
https://www.legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/document/rc/h-4.1,%20r.%2013.1
In addition, a second fee schedule adopted by resolution by the administrators of the Chambre des huissiers de justice du Québec — known as the professional fee schedule for bailiffs in Québec — provides a framework for certain charges, such as file opening fees, photocopies and administrative fees.
What can a bailiff do for me in Gatineau and the Outaouais region?
A bailiff can serve your documents, enforce a judgment, prepare a bailiff’s report, process a voluntary surrender or carry out amicable collection. Our team intervenes promptly and provides a fully law-compliant professional service.
How quickly can a bailiff intervene in my area?
For service of process, from file intake to receipt of your reports, the turnaround time is 5 to 7 business days for regular service. Our bailiffs can also intervene quickly, often on the same day in Gatineau, the Outaouais region and Eastern Ontario, for an additional fee.
For judgment enforcement, this depends on the type of seizure involved. Turnaround times will be explained by the person handling your file.
Thanks to our sizeable team, we reduce turnaround times for service of process, judgment enforcement, bailiff’s reports and voluntary surrenders.
Why choose Bergeron Renaud over another bailiff firm?
We are the largest team of bailiffs in the Outaouais region, with 12 bailiffs and 4 administrative assistants. This structure allows us to offer fast availability, a clear, personalized and rigorous service.
